Regulatory information
Last updated:
Paym is currently under development and has not yet completed its general commercial launch. Some products, features, payment methods and jurisdictions described by Paym are planned, in development or available only for controlled testing. Where a regulated financial service is made available, Paym will identify the entity providing that service, its regulatory status and the applicable terms before the customer uses it.
About Paym
Paym is a global payment identity and payment-orchestration service being developed around Paym.com by FinDech UAB.
Paym is designed around one payment identity — such as a Paym ID, payment link and QR code — that can connect users to different payment methods and regulated service providers.
Current service status
Paym has not yet completed its general commercial launch. Some functionality currently available may relate to account creation, Paym ID registration, product previews, development environments or controlled testing.
Paym is not a bank
Paym is not a bank.
A Paym account or Paym ID should not be understood as a bank account, deposit account or electronic-money account unless a specific regulated service expressly states otherwise and identifies the authorised provider.
FinDech UAB regulatory status
FinDech UAB currently develops Paym’s technology and customer experience. Paym does not currently represent FinDech UAB as a licensed bank, electronic-money institution or payment institution.
A licence application, regulatory application, registration process, provider sandbox, technical integration or commercial partnership does not by itself authorise FinDech UAB to provide a regulated financial service.
Regulated partners
Paym’s launch model is to make regulated financial services available through appropriately authorised partners where required. Depending on the service, such partners may provide payment accounts, electronic money, payment execution, payment initiation, acquiring, cards, foreign exchange, payouts, identity verification or other regulated functions.
When a specific regulated service becomes available to a customer, Paym will identify the relevant provider and applicable terms before the customer uses that service where required.
Future FinDech authorisations
FinDech UAB may seek its own regulatory authorisations as Paym develops. Any planned or pending authorisation will not be described as granted until the relevant regulator has formally issued it and the scope and effective status have been verified.
Customer funds
Paym does not describe customer funds as deposits with FinDech UAB.
Where a regulated partner receives or holds customer money, the applicable safeguarding, segregation, protection or deposit-insurance arrangements depend on that provider, product and jurisdiction and will be disclosed under the relevant service terms.
Payment methods and jurisdictions
Supported payment methods, currencies, accounts, cards, local rails, payout methods and protections may vary by country, customer type and provider.
Stablecoin settlement
Where legally appropriate, a regulated partner may use stablecoin or digital-asset infrastructure as an underlying settlement mechanism. Paym is not intended to require ordinary customers to hold or manage crypto-assets simply to make a Paym payment.
This is an architecture position. It is not a statement that such settlement is currently live.
Payment protection
Paym may develop conditional-release or transaction-protection features. A service will not be described as “escrow” unless its legal and regulatory structure supports that description.
Complaints and legal enquiries
Legal, privacy and regulatory enquiries can be sent to legal@paym.com.
The applicable service terms for a future partner-provided regulated service may provide a separate complaints procedure, provider contact or external dispute-resolution body.
